These Rules, promulgated by MX Sports Pro Racing ("MXS"), supplement the 2012 AMA Pro Racing Motocross Rulebook ("AMA Pro Rulebook"), the full contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. WMX competitors will be required to comply with the rules specified for the 250 Motocross Class in the AMA Pro Rulebook, unless otherwise specified herein. Section 1 - Licensing, Eligibility, Entries and Credentials
1.1 Competition Licenses
a. All WMX riders participating in any on-track practice, qualifying or racing activity must have a valid MXS/WMX license.
b. An MXS/ WMX License allows a rider to compete in the WMX Class only.
c. All licenses are issued at the sole discretion of MXS and may be revoked with or without cause.
d. MXS/WMX-licensed riders may not compete in Novice or "C" classes at other motocross events.
e. Licenses are not issued at the events and can only be obtained in advance from MXS. It is recommended that processing of license applications be completed thru the MXS office not less than 30 days prior to the first event in which the rider intends to participate.
f. License applications will be accepted for the 2012 race season through September 1, 2012.
1.3 WMX License Criteria
a. All license applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.
b. A WMX license may be issued if the rider has met one of the following requirements:
i. Held a WMX Pro Motocross license in either 2010 or 2011.
ii. Earned top 10 overall in the Women's Class at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship in 2010 or 2011.
iii. Earned top 5 overall in the Girls (12-15) Class at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship in 2010 or 2011.
iv. Competed in the FIM Women's World Cup in 2010 or 2011.
v. MXS may issue a license to any rider who does not meet the above criteria if it determines, in its sole discretion, the rider has adequate competition experience.
1.4 WMX Entries
a. Entries will be limited to 40 riders.
b. Pre-entry will close 14 days prior to the event.
c. Riders may post-enter by contacting MXS by 12 p.m. Friday before the event. Additional fees will apply for post-entries.
d. Entries will be accepted in the following order until the class is full:
i. Once a rider earns championship points in the current series, their entry in the remaining events in the series is guaranteed, provided the entry is received before the closing date.
ii. Riders finishing the 2011 WMX season in the top 25.
iii. Riders finishing in the top 5 in the Women's Class in the 2011 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship or in the FIM Women's World Cup.
iv. Riders earning any points during the 2011 WMX season.
v. For riders who have not earned points, the date on which the pre-entry is received at the MXS office will be the determining factor for acceptance.
Section 2 - Race Rules and Procedures
2.16 Qualifying
b. All entered WMX riders will be automatically seeded into the moto race.
2.17 Race Program
b. The WMX class will race one (1) moto which will be 15 minutes plus one (1) lap. The official race length will be determined once the white flag is displayed to the leader, followed by the checkered flag.
Section 3 - Equipment Standards and technical Rules
3.18 Numbers and Number Plates
a. Plate Color Requirements:
i. WMX Class: Blue plates (PMS code PROCESS), white numbers
ii. WMX Class Points Leader: Red plates, white numbers
b. Front Numbers/Number Plates:
iii. Rider numbers and the approved series and/or class title logos are required on the front number plates. The area on the top edge of the front number plate is reserved for the official series logo. This designated area shall be a height of 1 inch and a width of 8 inches.
c. Side Numbers/Number Panels:
ii. Side panels must also contain the official MXS logo. The logo must be a minimum height of 1 3/4 inches and width of 3 inches.
d. Number Assignments:
Riders will be assigned numbers for the 2012 season based on final championship standings from the 2011 WMX race season. Riders not participating in the 2011 WMX race season will be assigned numbers based upon receipt of application.
3.19 Rider Apparel
f. Rider Jersey:
iv. The official MXS logo must be displayed on the upper left front torso or left shoulder area of their jersey.
3.21 Display of MX Sports Logo
a. Riders are required to display the official MXS logo as required herein when competing in any part of an MX Sports-sanctioned event. The official logo shall be as follows:

b. The official MX Sports logo and/or logo artwork file, number plate stickers and adhesive apparel patches will be available at Technical Inspection at each race meet or online.
c. If a third party produces number plates and/or jerseys for riders prior to meets, they may request logo files from the MX Sports Technical Department. The request for artwork by a third party should include the rider's name.
d. Disclaimer for use of MX Sports-registered Trademarks:
MX Sports and the other logos and trademarks shown herein are trademarks of MX Sports Pro Racing. Participants are to use the approved logos on number plates and apparel only when participating in MX Sports events. Any further use of the marks outside of this capacity is prohibited without prior express written consent from MX Sports.
3.24 Starting Blocks
Starting Blocks are permitted. Mechanics are responsible for removing the blocks from the starting line before the next moto begins staging.
